Commander |

The Commander is the supreme leader of the Correctional Facility, its head and prime representative. The office of the Commander is the highest appointed office of a Correctional Facility and at all times should be considered with the greatest dignity and respect.

Power of the Commander |
|
| |
By virtue of this Code, the Commander is vested with the executive authority to manage the needs and affairs of the Correctional Facility with due regard to the Articles of this Code and relevent laws through the selection or dismissal of wise counsel in the form of their Board of Directors, including the appointment of their Executive Officer-Systems, Executive Officer- Operations, Captain and administration of the Correctional Facility. |

The Commander shall have the authority of Commander in Chief of all Correctional Officers and any additional security forces in time of declare Facility Security Emergency. The Commander shall have during such declared times the power to command emergency law. |

The Commander shall have the authority over all departments of the Correctional Facility as Chairman of the Board of Directors. As Chairman, the Commander may choose to overrule motions of the Board and select the agenda and minutes of the Board meetings. |

The Commander shall have the Power by virtue of this Constitution to pardon any convicted criminal and stay the sentence of any court imposed sentence for any lesser court than the Supreme Court. The Commander does not have the power to amend a judgment of the Supreme Court. |

Oath of the Commander |

Prior to the commencement of their term of office, the Commander shall make the following public oath- “--"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of Commander of (facility), and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of [Nation].” |

Term of the Commander |
|
| |
The Commander shall hold their Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with two Executive Officers, appointed for the same Term, be appointed by the General Secretary of Corrections upon the endorsement of the Board of Corrections. |
|

Maximum term tenure of Commander |
|
| |
By this code a Commander is ineligible to serve beyond a total of two terms (8) years at a single facility and a total of three terms (12) years at all facilities in the office of Commander. |
|
| |
Payment of the Commander |
|
| |
The Commander shall, at stated Times, receive for their Services, a Compensation, which shall neither be increased nor diminished during the Period for which they shall have been appointed, and shall not receive any other income during their term. |
