General principles of prisoner classification |

| |
By this code, all prisoners are classified as either T1, T2, or T3 type prisoners according to the total custodial sentence they must serve. |
|
| |
Furthermore, prisoners shall be classified as being eligible for one or more types of residency at a correctional facility as determined by the articles of this code in relation to: |
|
| |
(a) the type of offences for which they have been convicted; and |
|
| |
(b) their good behaviour since being in custody, in particular any display of violence and/or continued criminal behaviour; and |
|
| |
(c) the recommendations of any psychological assessment that does not contravene the conditions and articles of this code. |
